I am a book that speaks of faith and deeds,
A letter written to those with spiritual needs.
My author’s name is debated, some say it’s James,
Others claim a different author, with different aims.
My opening lines declare trials and testing,
And wisdom to those who seek it, investing
Their all into a life of righteousness,
And rejecting favoritism or selfishness.
I warn of the dangers of the tongue,
And the harm that can be done,
If we don’t hold it in check and use it right,
We’ll cause chaos and strife, day or night.
I exalt the humble, who trust in God’s plan,
And who rely on Him, stepping forth as a true spiritual man.
I urge patience in suffering, as it builds character deep,
And to resist lusts and temptations that are cheap.
My final words are a call to prayer,
And to confess our sins and seek the Lord’s care,
For He is merciful and gracious indeed,
And through His Son, our souls can be freed.
What book am I, so full of wisdom and truth?
Written by James or someone else, in my pages, you’ll find the proof.
