Born in bondage, we cried out in pain
Till a child was found, in the river to remain
Through wonders and plagues, we were led to hope
But the Red Sea stood before us, a daunting slope
With parted waters, we crossed to freedom
Our journey began, to a place long forgotten
A mountain stood tall, and thunder roared
As commandments were given, and laws were formed
For forty years, we wandered and learned
Till finally we stood, where we yearned
The promised land, at last in sight
And Moses, our leader, passed on his light
What book tells this tale, of courage and strife?
Of a people’s journey, to a better life?
