I am a record of ancient kings,
Their lineage, triumphs, and sins.
From Solomon’s wisdom to Hezekiah’s prayers,
My tales are recounted with great care.
My pages are filled with battles and wars,
Famines and plagues, and God’s divine laws.
I speak of temple construction and destruction,
And the prophets who spoke with conviction.
My beginning overlaps with 1 Samuel’s end,
And my concluding chapters herald a glimmer of hope and transcend.
My writer, Ezra the priest, compiled my accounts,
And through me, the history of Judah, he recounts.
What am I, a testament to Israel’s past?
My answer’s found in the Bible, but my difficulty’s amassed.
