Genesis 40: The Prisoner’s Dream

• Act One

The play opens in the dungeons where Joseph has been imprisoned. He is dejected and alone, until two new prisoners arrive.

• Scene 1: Dungeon Blues

• Scene 2: Introduction of the Prisoners
• Song 2: “New Cellmates”
• Act Two

Joseph interprets the dreams of the two prisoners, but is left forgotten in the dungeon.

The pharaoh has a troubling dream, and the cup-bearer remembers Joseph’s gift. Joseph is brought before the pharaoh to interpret the dream, and is rewarded greatly.
