The Unfruitful Fig Tree – Pumpkins Remix…

a Remix of the Parable found in Luke 13:6-9

Once upon a time, there was a pumpkin patch owned by a farmer. In the middle of the patch, there was a pumpkin vine that never produced any pumpkins. The farmer tried everything to help the vine grow pumpkins. He gave it extra water, rich soil, and even talked to it, but nothing worked.

Finally, the farmer became frustrated and decided to cut down the vine. But his wise friend told him to give the vine one more chance. The farmer agreed and gave the vine one more year to produce pumpkins.

The following year, the pumpkin vine still didn’t produce any pumpkins, and the farmer knew he had made the right decision to cut it down. He realized that the vine was taking up space and resources that could be used to grow more fruitful pumpkins.

The moral of the story is that sometimes we may give everything we have to something or someone that doesn’t contribute to our growth or bears no fruit. We need to surround ourselves with things that add value to our lives and help us grow. Just like the farmer, it may be hard, but sometimes we need to cut things out that bring us down or don’t help us reach our fullest potential.

the Original Parable found in Luke 13:6-9 (KJV)

He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
