The Social Media Story
Once upon a time, a social media user went out to share their posts. As they scrolled through their feed, some of the content caught their attention, while others did not. The user was like a seed tossed onto different types of social media soil.
The first type of soil was shallow and rocky. The seed landed there, but it didn’t take root. The user shared their post on this platform, but no one engaged with it, and it received no likes, comments, or shares.
The second type of soil was full of thorns and weeds. The seed grew, but the thorns choked it, and it withered away. The user posted on a platform that was full of negativity and controversy, and the posts got lost in the noise of arguments, and the attention of the audience was consumed by the drama.
The third type of soil was good soil, and the seed grew and produced abundant fruit. The user shared some posts on a platform that was supportive, where people were kind, and encouraging. The posts were shared, they received likes, and people engaged with them.
Just as Jesus explained the parable of the soils to his disciples, social media users need to understand what types of platforms are conducive to their content, and which ones will not yield any fruit. The good soil is the optimal social media landscape where posts can take root and grow, always remember that content is likelier to prosper when it’s shared on social media platforms where positivity, support, and encouragement are the norm.
