The Minecraft Parable:
“Imagine an owner of a Minecraft server who had a faithful servant working for him. The servant worked tirelessly day and night to tend to the server, mining for resources and building amazing structures. One day, the owner said to his servant, ‘You are doing well, but you are not done yet. Keep mining and building until I tell you to stop.’
The servant replied, ‘Yes, my lord. I will do as you say.’
The owner then went about his business, but when he returned to the server, he found the servant still mining and building. He asked the servant, ‘Why are you still working? Haven’t you done what I commanded you to do?’
The servant replied, ‘Master, I have done all that you have asked of me, and more. I have built magnificent structures and collected abundant resources.’
The owner then said, ‘You are just doing what is expected of you. You are my servant and it is your duty to do as I command. When you have finished all that I have asked of you, you should still consider yourself an unworthy servant. For even after you have done all that was commanded of you, you are still just a servant.’
In the same way, when you have done everything you are commanded to do, you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”
