Yo, this one’s for all my Chicago Bears fans out there. So, imagine if you will, the Chicago Bears represent that big ol’ fishing net in Matthew 13:47-50. And just like that net, the Bears are gonna catch all kinds of fish (a.k.a. fans, opponents, media attention) when they hit Soldier Field.
But here’s the thing, like with any net, there are gonna be some fish that are just no good. Maybe they’re too small, too sickly, or just plain nasty. And the same goes for any team. Sometimes, despite all the effort and passion put in, there are players that just don’t cut it, fans that are just too negative or unsupportive, and defeats that are just too harsh to even swallow.
So what do the Bears do with those bad fish? Well, just like in the Bible, they gotta get rid of them. You can’t let them spoil the rest of the catch. And in the same way, the Bears gotta remove any negativity, discouragement, or unsportsmanlike behavior that might be holding them back from reaching ultimate victory.
So, my fellow Bears fans, let’s embrace our team like that fishing net. Let’s cheer them on as they catch some serious fish and let’s also recognize it’s better to remove what doesn’t work and focus on pushing forward with that which does! #BearDown #WinningTheBearsWay
