Fishing Net – Nightmare on Elm Street Remix…

a Remix of the Parable found in Matthew 13:47-50

Alright folks, so Jesus was telling a story in Matthew 13:47-50 about a fishing net that was cast out into the sea and caught all kinds of fish. Some were good, but others were no bueno. So, the fishermen separated the good fish from the bad fish and threw the bad ones back into the sea.

Now, let’s try to put Nightmare on Elm Street into the mix. Imagine you and your buddies are out at a late night horror movie marathon and you end up dozing off during Nightmare on Elm Street. All of a sudden, you’re in a dream world and Freddy Krueger is chasing you down. You’re running for your life, but you can’t seem to escape.

But, here’s the thing. In this dream world, there are some people who are strong enough to fight Freddy off and others who just can’t seem to shake him. The strong ones are like the good fish that were caught in the net, while the weak ones are like the bad fish that got tossed back into the sea.

In the same way, Jesus was saying that when the end times come, God will separate the righteous from the wicked. The good people will be welcomed into heaven, while the bad ones will be cast into the fiery furnace. So, make sure you’re one of the good fish, folks. Don’t end up like one of Freddy’s victims.

the Original Parable found in Matthew 13:47-50 (KJV)

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
