In Mark 8, Jesus feeds a crowd of 4,000 with just seven loaves of bread and a few fish. He then gets into a boat with his disciples and crosses the sea, warning them to beware of the "leaven of the Pharisees." When they arrive at their destination, they encounter a blind man whom Jesus heals. Jesus then asks his disciples who they believe him to be, and Peter declares that he is the Christ. Jesus predicts his own death and resurrection, and warns his followers that those who wish to save their lives will lose them, but those who lose their lives for his sake will save them.
