Let's Talk About Wrestle mania

Martha: Good morning, Esau. How are you today?

Esau: Good morning, Martha. I’m doing great. I’m excited about Wrestle Mania this weekend!

Martha: Wrestle what, now?

Esau: Wrestle Mania! It’s the biggest wrestling event of the year.

Martha: Wrestling? That’s not a very lady-like thing to watch, Esau.

Esau: Well, I love it! The strength and strategy it takes to wrestle is amazing. That’s why I relate to it as a hunter. It’s just like when I have to wrestle with a deer to bring it down.

Martha: Oh, I see. But it seems rather violent to me.

Esau: Maybe it is, but there’s something exhilarating about the competition. You know, it’s not just about brute strength, Martha. You have to be quick on your feet and outsmart your opponent. It takes real skill to win at Wrestle Mania.

Martha: I can see why you like it. But as Christians, we are called to be peacemakers and avoid violence.

Esau: I understand what you’re saying, Martha. And you’re right, we should avoid violence. But, we can still enjoy a good competition. Playing sports is a healthy way to release tension and get our minds off of everyday worries, and as long as you’re not hurting anyone, it’s harmless.

Martha: That’s a good point, Esau. And we can always use sports to help build our character. The discipline and dedication it takes to train for a sport can help us grow in many ways.

Esau: Absolutely, Martha. And we can also use our passions and hobbies to glorify God. Sportsmanship and fair play are just as important as winning. And if we use our talents and passions to help others or to spread the word of God, then we are truly living out our faith.

Martha: You know, Esau, that’s very true. We can learn to appreciate the gifts God has given us, and use them for the greater good, and for His glory.

Esau: I couldn’t agree more, Martha. So when you watch Wrestle Mania this weekend, don’t think of it as mindless violence, but as an exciting opportunity to enjoy the talents and skills of the athletes, and to hopefully learn something about ourselves in the process.

Martha: That’s a great way to look at it, Esau. Thank you for sharing your perspective with me.

Esau: Anytime, Martha. And remember, whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God!

Wrestle mania Debate

Martha and debate Wrestle mania

Martha: Hello there, Esau! Have you heard of Wrestle Mania?

Esau: Wrestle what? Is that a new game for hunting or something?

Martha: Haha! No, no, no! It’s a big wrestling event where men and women from all around the world come together to show off their moves and battle it out in the ring!

Esau: Oh, that sounds interesting. But, why would people want to do that? Seems pretty brutal to me.

Martha: Well, it’s a form of entertainment – just like hunting, I suppose. And, it takes a lot of skill, technique, and practice to become a great wrestler! They train for hours on end to perfect their moves.

Esau: Hmm, I can see why you would enjoy watching that kind of thing. But, as a hunter, I prefer the thrill of the chase and the satisfaction of bringing home a prize.

Martha: I understand that. But, don’t you get tired of always being out in the wilderness? As a homemaker, I need a break every now and then. Watching Wrestle Mania is a great way to unwind after a long day of chores.

Esau: I suppose that makes sense. But, I still think there’s nothing quite like the rush of hunting. Plus, it’s a great way to provide for my family.

Martha: I can see your point. But, think of it this way – wrestling is like hunting, but without the actual killing. It’s a way for people to channel their aggression and release their energy in a safe and controlled environment.

Esau: Hmm, I never thought of it that way. Maybe I’ll have to check it out sometime.

Martha: Yes, you should! Who knows, you might even become a fan and start practicing your own wrestling moves!

Esau: Haha, I doubt it. But, I appreciate the suggestion. Thanks, Martha!

Martha: Anytime, Esau! It’s always fun to talk about different passions and interests. See you later!

About Martha from the New Testament

Martha, also known as Mary’s sister, is a prominent figure in the New Testament. She was a devoted follower of Jesus, and her home was often a place of fellowship for Him and His disciples. Although Martha was well-intentioned, she often found herself overwhelmed by the tasks of hospitality and serving others.

One of the most well-known stories involving Martha is found in the gospel of Luke. In this account, Jesus and His disciples come to visit Martha and Mary. While Mary sits at Jesus’ feet, listening to His teachings, Martha becomes frustrated that she is left to do all the work. Jesus gently rebukes her, reminding her that Mary has chosen the better part.

Despite this moment of tension, Martha remained committed to Jesus and His ministry. She was present at the raising of Lazarus and expressed her faith that Jesus was the Messiah (John 11:27). Martha’s love for Jesus was evidenced not only through her words, but through her actions as well.

Through Martha’s story, we are reminded of the importance of balancing service with discipleship. It is easy to become consumed with our responsibilities and neglect the time we spend in fellowship with God. By prioritizing our relationship with Him, we can better serve those around us with love and compassion.

About Esau from the Old Testament

Esau was the firstborn son of Isaac and Rebekah, and the twin brother of Jacob. He was a skilled hunter and preferred the outdoors. Esau was known for his impulsive nature and his lack of concern for spiritual matters. He sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of soup, which later caused a permanent separation from the blessing of the Lord.

Despite his shortcomings, Esau’s faith was not lost, and he did repent of his ways before his death. Hebrews 12:16-17 speaks of Esau’s regret for selling his birthright: “Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”

Esau’s story serves as a reminder that even those who make grave mistakes can still find redemption through faith and repentance.
