This is a fictional Bible reading. Guardians of the Galaxy did not actually make this Bible reading.

Star-Lord: Alright Guardians, it’s story time. Today, we’re diving into the book of Acts.

Rocket: Ugh, do we have to? I’d rather be blowing things up.

Groot: I am Groot.

Gamora: I’m interested to hear what our fearless leader has to say about this holy book.

Star-Lord: Alright, let’s get started. So, the book of Acts starts off after Jesus’ resurrection and ascension. The disciples are left wondering what to do next.

Drax: Ah, yes. I remember when Ronan was defeated, and we were left without a clear mission.

Gamora: That’s not exactly the same thing, Drax.

Star-Lord: Anyway, the disciples are filled with the Holy Spirit and begin to spread the gospel throughout Jerusalem and beyond. They perform miracles and convert thousands of people.

Rocket: Sounds like they could have used a few of our tricks up their sleeves.

Star-Lord: Moving on, one of the most famous stories in Acts is the conversion of Saul, who later becomes Paul. He was a notorious persecutor of Christians but has a dramatic encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus.

Gamora: Kind of like when we first met and you were trying to steal that orb from me, Peter.

Star-Lord: Well, I wouldn’t quite compare myself to Jesus, but I get your point. Anyway, after his conversion, Paul becomes one of the greatest evangelists in history and travels extensively, preaching and establishing churches.

Drax: A true hero, much like myself.

Rocket: Please, Drax. You couldn’t preach your way out of a paper bag.

Groot: I am Groot.

Star-Lord: Alright, guys. Let’s stay focused. One of the key themes of Acts is the spread of the gospel to the Gentiles. This was a radical shift from Judaism, which saw Gentiles as unclean and unworthy.

Gamora: That reminds me of when we first met those Ravagers and they didn’t want to work with us because we weren’t part of their crew.

Rocket: Oh, I remember that. We showed them what we were made of.

Star-Lord: Yes, it’s a similar idea. The gospel is for all people, not just a select few.

Drax: And that’s the beauty of it. Everyone has the opportunity to be saved, no matter who they are.

Groot: I am Groot.

Star-Lord: Finally, Acts ends with Paul under house arrest in Rome, continuing to preach the gospel and spread the good news.

Rocket: Sounds pretty anticlimactic if you ask me.

Gamora: I think the point is that the story doesn’t end with Acts. The spread of the gospel continues on to this day.

Drax: And we are a part of that story, in our own way.

Star-Lord: Exactly. And who knows? Maybe one day they’ll write a book of Acts about us.

Rocket: Ha! Good luck with that.

Groot: I am Groot.

Star-Lord: Alright, team. Til then, let’s keep saving the galaxy, one day at a time.

Rocket: And blowing stuff up.

Gamora: And sharing the gospel.

Drax: And being heroes.

Groot: I am Groot.

Star-Lord: Love the enthusiasm, guys. As always, it’s been a blast.

Rocket: Literally.
