“Hey there, it’s ya boy Sal Vulcano, and I’m about to give you the rundown of the Bible book of John. Now, I ain’t no theologian or nothing, but I do know a thing or two about a good story.
So, John starts off telling us about this dude named Jesus. Apparently, he’s the son of God or something like that. He goes around performing miracles and preaching about love and forgiveness. Sounds like a pretty chill dude if you ask me.
But of course, there’s always haters out there. The Pharisees and religious leaders are not too keen on Jesus and start plotting against him. They end up arresting him and putting him on trial.
But here’s where things get wild. Jesus ends up getting crucified, but three days later he comes back to life! Like, what?! That’s some next level stuff right there.
After his resurrection, Jesus appears to his disciples and teaches them some more life lessons. One of the most famous stories from John is when Jesus washes his disciples’ feet. I mean, who does that? That’s some humbling stuff right there.
But things take a dark turn again when one of Jesus’ own disciples, Judas, betrays him and turns him over to the authorities. Jesus is once again arrested and ultimately sentenced to death.
The book of John ends with Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. It’s a powerful message about love, sacrifice, and forgiveness.
Now, you may be wondering what this has to do with me and my comedy. Well, let me tell ya, there’s a lot of material to be found in this book. I mean, we’ve got betrayal, miracles, and a resurrection! It’s like a Hollywood blockbuster.
But in all seriousness, I think there’s something to be learned from John’s account of Jesus’ life. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope and love to be found.
And with that being said, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes: “If you’re gonna make fun of someone, make it yourself.” Words to live by, folks.”
