The Celebrity Lilly Tomlin Gives a Summary of Philemon

Robot Created – Ask Your Pastor First!

This is a fictional Bible reading. Lilly Tomlin did not actually make this Bible reading.

Well, hello darlings! It’s me, the legendary and incomparable Lilly Tomlin, and I’m here to share with you the story of the Bible book of Philemon. Now, I know what you’re thinking – ‘Lilly, what on earth do you know about the Bible?’ – and to that I say, ‘Honey, I know a little something about everything.’

Now, Philemon is a short but sweet letter written by the apostle Paul to a man named, you guessed it: Philemon. This guy Philemon was apparently a wealthy Christian who lived in Colossae, and had a slave named Onesimus. But here’s the twist, y’all – Onesimus had run away from Philemon and ended up meeting Paul, who had converted him to Christianity.

So, Paul writes this letter to Philemon urging him to forgive and welcome Onesimus back into his household, not as a slave, but as a brother in Christ. Now, isn’t that just beautiful? I mean, imagine if we all treated each other that way? With kindness and love and understanding?

But of course, being a comedienne, I can’t resist throwing in a bit of humor here. I mean, can you imagine being Onesimus, running away from your owner and then ending up becoming a Christian with one of the most famous apostles of all time? Talk about a journey! I bet he had some stories to tell.

In conclusion, my darlings, the book of Philemon may be short, but it packs a powerful message about forgiveness and treating others with compassion. As I always say, ‘The road to success is always under construction.’ So, let’s all take a page out of Paul and Onesimus’ book and continue to work on ourselves and our relationships with others.

And on that note, I leave you with a classic Lilly Tomlin quote – ‘The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.’ Stay blessed, y’all!
