Hey hey it’s Jojo Siwa, and I’m going to tell you guys the amazing story of Ruth from the Bible! So Ruth is actually about a woman named Ruth who was a Moabite, and she marries an Israelite named Mahlon. Unfortunately, Mahlon and his brother die, leaving their wives (Ruth and her sister-in-law) widowed.
Ruth decides to stay with her mother-in-law, Naomi, instead of returning to her own family. And let me tell you, Ruth is the definition of loyalty! She even makes this famous vow to Naomi: “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” How sweet is that?!
Anyway, Ruth and Naomi end up in Bethlehem, and Ruth is out collecting grain when she meets Boaz, who is a wealthy landowner. Boaz is impressed by Ruth’s kindness and loyalty, and he even orders his workers to leave extra grain for her to collect.
Eventually, Naomi realizes that Boaz could be a good match for Ruth, and she instructs Ruth to go to Boaz at night and ask him to marry her. Y’all, Ruth is bold! And thankfully, Boaz is also impressed with Ruth and agrees to marry her.
Long story short, Boaz and Ruth have a son named Obed, who becomes the grandfather of King David. So Ruth may seem like a small, insignificant story, but it actually has huge implications for the lineage of Jesus Christ!
So that’s the story of Ruth, from the Bible! And you know what they say, “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay… unless there’s a dance competition, then see ya!”
