This is a fictional Bible reading. Joel Osteen did not actually make this Bible reading.

Hi everyone, it’s Joel Osteen here and I’m excited to share with you the amazing story of 2 Timothy from the Bible. This book is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to his dear friend and protege, Timothy, in which he urges him to remain steadfast in the faith and continue to preach the Gospel, even in the face of adversity.

Now, I know all too well the challenges that come with sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. As a pastor myself, I have faced criticisms and even outright opposition from those who don’t understand or agree with my message of hope and positivity. But just like Paul encouraged Timothy to keep going, I am encouraged by his words as well.

One of my favorite verses from 2 Timothy is chapter 1, verse 7 where it says, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” This reminds me that as believers, we have access to the same power that raised Christ from the dead and we don’t have to be afraid to boldly proclaim the truth.

Paul also reminds Timothy of the importance of studying and knowing the scriptures. In chapter 3 verses 16 and 17, it says that “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” This is a powerful reminder that we can’t just rely on our own opinions or feelings, but that God’s word is what we need to guide us in all areas of life.

One thing that really stood out to me in 2 Timothy is Paul’s emphasis on passing the torch to the next generation of believers. In chapter 2, verse 2 he writes, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” This is something that I am passionate about as well. We need to make sure that we are not only sharing the Gospel with those around us, but also equipping and empowering them to continue to share it with others.

Of course, the book of 2 Timothy also has some warnings about false teachers and those who will fall away from the faith. But ultimately, it is a message of hope and encouragement to remain faithful to the end.

So friends, let us take the words of Paul to heart and continue to run the race of faith with perseverance. And as one of my favorite quotes goes, “You may have big problems, but we have a big God.” So let’s trust in Him and His word as we continue to share the love and hope of Christ with those around us.

And as always, remember to smile and have a blessed day!
