Star of Bethlehem – a Matthew 2 Craft

Materials Needed

• Yellow craft foam or paper
• Scissors
• Glue
• Gold glitter
• Hole punch
• Ribbon or string

Instructions

1. Cut out a large star shape from the yellow craft foam or paper.
2. Sprinkle gold glitter over one side of the star and allow it to dry.
3. Use the hole punch to create a hole at the top of the star.
4. Thread a ribbon or string through the hole and tie a knot at the top to create a loop for hanging.
5. Write or print out the following Bible verse on a small piece of paper: "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." – Matthew 2:2
6. Glue the piece of paper with the Bible verse onto the back of the star.
7. Hang the star in a prominent place to remind you of the story of the wise men following the star to find Jesus.

Optional

• Add additional decorations to the star, such as sequins or stickers.
• Use the star as a Christmas tree ornament.
