Purely Devoted – a 1 Corinthians 7 Craft
Supplies Needed:
- Wooden heart shape
- White paint
- Paintbrush
- Permanent marker or paint pen
- Ribbon or string
- Glue
Instructions:
Begin by painting the wooden heart shape with white paint. Allow to dry completely.
Using a permanent marker or paint pen, write the phrase "Purely Devoted" in the center of the heart.
On the edges of the heart, write out verses from 1 Corinthians 7 that speak to the importance of devotion in marriage. Suggestions include:
- "The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife." (1 Corinthians 7:4)
- "But I want you to be free from concern. One who is unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord." (1 Corinthians 7:32)
- "An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs—how he can please the Lord." (1 Corinthians 7:32)
Once you have written out the verses, use glue to attach a ribbon or string to the back of the heart, creating a loop for hanging.
Hang your "Purely Devoted" craft in a prominent place as a reminder of the importance of devotion in marriage.
Optional:
- Decorate the wooden heart with additional designs or embellishments, such as glitter or rhinestones, to make it more personal.
- Use different colors of paint or markers to create a more colorful design.
