Parable Patch – a Matthew 13 Craft
Materials:
- Construction paper (various colors)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Markers or crayons
- Bible
Instructions:
- Read Matthew 13 from the Bible with your children. Discuss the different parables and what they mean.
- Cut out various shapes from the construction paper (circles, squares, triangles, etc.).
- On each shape, draw or write one of the parables from Matthew 13.
- Glue the shapes onto a large piece of construction paper to create a "patchwork" of parables.
- Display the Parable Patch in a prominent place in your home to remind your family of the important lessons Jesus taught.
Variations:
- Instead of drawing or writing the parables onto the shapes, have your children come up with their own illustrations to represent each parable.
- Use fabric instead of construction paper to create a more tactile and long-lasting Parable Patch.
- Expand the craft to include all of the parables in the Bible by incorporating different books and chapters.
