Love in Action – a 1 Corinthians 13 Craft
Materials:
- Small wooden plaque or canvas
- Acrylic paint in various colors
- Paintbrushes
- Pencil
- Black permanent marker
- Printed copy of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
Instructions:
- Begin by painting the entire wooden plaque or canvas with your base color. Allow the paint to dry completely.
- Using a pencil, lightly sketch out the phrase "Love is…" on the plaque or canvas.
- Using a different color for each phrase, paint in the words from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a. For example, you could use red for "Love is patient," blue for "Love is kind," etc. Be sure to allow each color to dry before moving on to the next.
- Once all the phrases are painted in, use a black permanent marker to outline each word and give them a more defined look.
- Finally, add any additional decorations or embellishments you’d like, such as hearts or flowers.
Tips:
- If you’re not confident in your handwriting, you can print out the phrases from 1 Corinthians 13 and use them as a stencil.
- This craft can be easily adapted to fit any age group, from young children to adults. Simply adjust the size of the wooden plaque or canvas and the level of detail in the painting.
- Display your finished craft in a prominent place to serve as a daily reminder of the power of love in action.
