Heavenly Harvest – a 1 Thessalonians 2 Craft

Materials Needed:

• Construction paper (various colors)
• Scissors
• Glue
• Markers or crayons
• Cotton balls

Instructions:

1. Cut out a shape of a basket from brown construction paper.
2. Cut out various fruits and vegetables from different colored construction paper.
3. Glue the fruits and vegetables onto the basket, creating a bountiful harvest.
4. On a separate piece of paper or on the basket itself, write a verse from 1 Thessalonians 2, such as "For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you…" (v. 10-11)
5. Decorate the basket and verse with markers or crayons.
6. Glue cotton balls onto the top of the basket to represent the heavenly harvest being brought to heaven.

Extension:

Discuss with children how we can follow the example of Paul and his companions in 1 Thessalonians 2 by working hard and sharing the gospel with others. Encourage children to think of ways they can serve and share the love of Jesus with those around them.
