Free from the Law – a Romans 7 Craft
Materials:
- Paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Markers or colored pencils
Instructions:
- Cut out the shape of a person from the paper. This will represent yourself.
- Cut out the shape of a scroll from the paper. This will represent the law.
- On the person shape, write or draw things that represent the struggles and sins you are dealing with. Write "Romans 7:14-25" above or below the person.
- On the scroll shape, write or draw the laws and rules you are trying to follow. Write "Romans 7:7-8" above or below the scroll.
- Glue the scroll to the person’s hand, representing the law being held onto.
- Use the markers or colored pencils to draw lines of confusion and chaos around the person shape, representing the struggle to follow the law.
- Cut out a second person shape and glue it next to the first person shape.
- On the second person shape, write or draw things that represent the freedom and peace you have in Christ. Write "Romans 8:1-2" above or below the person.
- Use the markers or colored pencils to draw lines of peace and joy around the second person shape, representing the freedom from the law in Christ.
- Display the two person shapes side by side, representing the before and after effects of being free from the law through Christ.
Optional:
- You can add more details to the craft, such as using glitter or stickers to represent the freedom and joy in Christ.
- You can also add Bible verses or quotes related to Romans 7 and 8 to the craft.
