Forgiveness Knots – a Philemon Craft
Materials needed:
- Twine or string
- Scissors
- Small piece of paper
- Pen or marker
- Optional: beads or charms
Instructions:
- Cut a piece of twine or string to the desired length for your knot bracelet.
- Tie a knot at one end of the string and slide a bead or charm (if using) onto the string.
- Tie another knot on top of the bead or charm to secure it in place.
- Fold the small piece of paper in half and write the word "forgiveness" on it.
- Slip the paper into the next knot and tie another knot on top to secure the paper in place.
- Continue tying knots in the string, making sure to include the paper with the word "forgiveness" in every other knot.
- When the bracelet is the desired length, tie a final knot and trim any excess string.
- Wear the bracelet as a reminder to forgive others, just as Philemon forgave Onesimus in the Bible.
Optional variations:
- Use different colors of string or beads to personalize the bracelet.
- Instead of using a piece of paper, write the word "forgiveness" on a small piece of fabric or even a leaf and include it in the knots.
- Make multiple bracelets and share them with friends or family members as a symbol of your commitment to forgiveness.
