Forgiveness Knots – a Philemon Craft

Forgiveness Knots – a Philemon Craft

Materials needed:

  • Twine or string
  • Scissors
  • Small piece of paper
  • Pen or marker
  • Optional: beads or charms

Instructions:

  1. Cut a piece of twine or string to the desired length for your knot bracelet.
  2. Tie a knot at one end of the string and slide a bead or charm (if using) onto the string.
  3. Tie another knot on top of the bead or charm to secure it in place.
  4. Fold the small piece of paper in half and write the word "forgiveness" on it.
  5. Slip the paper into the next knot and tie another knot on top to secure the paper in place.
  6. Continue tying knots in the string, making sure to include the paper with the word "forgiveness" in every other knot.
  7. When the bracelet is the desired length, tie a final knot and trim any excess string.
  8. Wear the bracelet as a reminder to forgive others, just as Philemon forgave Onesimus in the Bible.

Optional variations:

  • Use different colors of string or beads to personalize the bracelet.
  • Instead of using a piece of paper, write the word "forgiveness" on a small piece of fabric or even a leaf and include it in the knots.
  • Make multiple bracelets and share them with friends or family members as a symbol of your commitment to forgiveness.
