Enduring Race – a 1 Corinthians 9 Craft

Materials Needed:

  • Small wooden dowels
  • Paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • String

Instructions:

  1. Paint the wooden dowels in different colors to represent the diversity of people running the race of life.
  2. Once the paint has dried, use the scissors to cut the dowels into different lengths to represent people at different stages in their journey.
  3. Use the hot glue gun to glue the dowels together to create a pyramid-like structure.
  4. Tie a string around the structure to represent the finish line.
  5. On each side of the structure, write a quote from 1 Corinthians 9 that reminds us to endure in our race of life.

Examples of 1 Corinthians 9 Quotes:

  • "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."
  • "Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air."
  • "I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some."
