Enduring Hope – A 1 Thessalonians 3 Craft
Materials:
- Small clay pots
- Soil
- Flower seeds
- Paint or markers
- Small wooden sticks
- Glue
- 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 printed on cardstock
Instructions:
- Start by painting or drawing designs on the clay pots. Use bright colors and patterns to represent hope and joy.
- Once the paint is dry, use a glue stick to attach the printed verses to the front of each pot.
- Fill each pot with soil and plant a flower seed in each one. As you do this, pray for each person who will receive one of these pots.
- Place a small wooden stick in each pot to support the growing plant. Write a message of hope and encouragement on each stick.
- Water the plants and place the pots in a sunny spot where they will get plenty of light.
- As the plants grow, encourage the recipients to read 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 and let the enduring hope of Christ fill their hearts.
Additional Ideas:
- Instead of flower seeds, use herb seeds like basil or thyme. This way, the recipients can use the herbs in their cooking and be reminded of the enduring hope they have in Christ.
- Create a tag with a prayer for each recipient to attach to the pot. This way, they can always remember the person who gave them the gift and the love and hope that comes from Christ.
