Meaning:
The Crimson Cord Cross is inspired by the story of Jesus’ crucifixion, as told in Mark 15. In this story, Jesus is mocked, beaten and ultimately crucified on a wooden cross. Before his death, a soldier places a crown of thorns on his head and the people pass by, mocking him. In the midst of all this, a woman named Rahab has faith in God and saves her household by tying a scarlet cord to her window. This cord becomes a symbol of salvation for her and her family. The Crimson Cord Cross combines these two stories, reminding us of the sacrifice Jesus made for our salvation and the power of faith in God to save us. The red cord represents the blood shed by Jesus, which washes away our sins and gives us new life.
