"Build on the Rock" – a Matthew 7 Craft
Materials Needed
- Rocks of various sizes (3-5 per person)
- Paint and paintbrushes
- Markers
- Glue
- Construction paper
- Scissors
Instructions
- Begin by reading Matthew 7:24-27 together as a group.
- Talk about how the wise man built his house on the rock, and how the foolish man built his house on the sand.
- Discuss what it means to build our lives on a firm foundation.
- Give each person 3-5 rocks of various sizes.
- Using paint and markers, decorate the rocks with quotes or phrases from Matthew 7, such as "Build on the Rock," "Wise Builder," or "Firm Foundation."
- Once the rocks are dry, glue them together to create a tower or a structure.
- Cut out construction paper and write "Matthew 7" on it.
- Glue the construction paper to the base of the tower.
- Display the finished "Build on the Rock" craft as a reminder to build our lives on a firm foundation in Christ.
