Aroma of Life – a 2 Corinthians 2 Craft
Materials Needed:
- Small glass bottles with stoppers
- Essential oils (such as lavender, peppermint, lemon)
- Carrier oil (such as coconut or jojoba oil)
- Labels
- Marker or pen
Instructions:
Begin by reading 2 Corinthians 2:14-15: "But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing."
Discuss with your group or family what it means to be the aroma of Christ and how we can spread His love and message to others.
Have each person choose an essential oil that reminds them of the qualities of Christ they want to share with others (such as lavender for peace, peppermint for strength, or lemon for joy).
Fill each glass bottle halfway with carrier oil.
Add a few drops of the chosen essential oil to each bottle, adjusting the amount to preference.
Close the bottle and shake gently to mix the oils.
Label each bottle with the chosen essential oil and add a smaller label with the verse reference, "2 Corinthians 2:14-15"
Share the bottles of Aroma of Life with friends and loved ones as a reminder of the love and message of Christ that they can carry with them throughout their day.
Encourage recipients to share the message of Christ’s love and to pass on the Aroma of Life to others.
May this craft and message serve as a reminder that we are called to be the pleasing aroma of Christ to those around us, spreading His love and message of hope to all who need it.
