Angelic Greetings – a Luke 1 Craft
Supplies Needed:
- Cardstock or Construction Paper
- Scissors
- Markers or Colored Pencils
- Glue Stick or Tape
- Printable Template (Optional)
Instructions:
- Begin by cutting out a rectangle from the cardstock or construction paper. This will be the base for the angelic greeting.
- Fold the rectangle in half to create a card.
- On the front of the card, write "Angelic Greetings" with your markers or colored pencils.
- On the inside of the card, write the following verse from Luke 1:28-29: "The angel went to her and said, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.’ Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be."
- If desired, print out a template of an angel to cut out and glue onto the front of the card.
- Decorate the card with additional artwork or messages as desired.
- Share the card with a friend or family member as a reminder of the angelic greeting given to Mary in Luke 1.
Optional Extension Activities:
- Use this craft as an opportunity to discuss the story of Mary in Luke 1 and the significance of the angelic greeting she received.
- Encourage children to create their own angelic messages or greetings to share with others.
- Use different materials or techniques to create a unique and personalized card, such as paint, glitter, or collage.
